300 room, luxury hotel & spa renovation. Los Angeles
Scope: Responsible for the $12 million FF&E and OS&E budget management and expenditures, including FF&E design management, owner and partner coordination, purchasing execution, documentation and reporting, warehousing & installation services.

Highlights:

  • Coordinated and procured the OS&E and uniforms for the new joint venture restaurant and bar that met the standards of both the corporate owner as well as two high profile owner/operators. Demonstrated capability to react quickly to evolving china, glassware and equipment requirements as chefs and operators developed the new menus prior to opening.
  • Negotiated 20% savings on furniture and various commodities. Sponsored manufacturers, including those exclusively specified into preferred supplier contracts with rebates for owner. Managed purchasing of plumbing & electrical fixtures, tile, glass and other categories typically handled by construction contractors.
  • Integrated multi-phase purchasing function for the full duration of the renovation, implementing changes due to designer and scope transition prior to project completion.
  • Administered artistic works contracts and supervised installation of unique sculptures, framed paintings and lobby wall mural. Effectively performed as liaison between owner, designer, independent art consultant and renowned artists.




480 room business & leisure hotel. New York City
Scope: Led FF&E and OS&E budgeting process for brand's new design concept from development stage, model room fit-out, preliminary refresh guest room phases and planning for future full scale renovation.

Highlights:

    • Generated comprehensive reporting allowing for evolving project scope, room mix, economic conditions and budget reiterations accordingly.
    • Surveyed brand standards, performed as the go-to contact for the contracted design and purchasing firm; later stepping-in to take over procurement for the model room.
    • Compiled line item product list with specification details and sourcing for new design concept. Expanded upon data base generated from hotel operations, brand management in the US and abroad to meet inquiries and budget projections required by potential investors, internal and external project management, design team and consultants.



 
Luxury and corporate business hotel. San Francisco
Scope: Procurement Project Manager for all public areas including lobby, restaurant & bar, ballroom and meeting rooms renovation.

    • Resolved conflict in regard to manufacturing flaws in floor coverings and restaurant table tops between owner and suppliers. As owner's agent, directed negotiations with suppliers and persevered to gain a cash settlement, invoice credit memos and replacement products for th



Luxury and leisure hotel near airport. Miami
Scope: Procurement Project Manager for F & B outlet repositioning including two public areas from traditional gift shop to a ready-to-go bake & coffee shop and the creation of a new private dining room for the restaurant.

  • Assessed design board and preliminary product selections and sourced similar styled alternative products with acceptable lead times to successfully meet owner's project




480 room business & leisure hotel. New York City
Scope: Procurement Project Manager for the FF&E, warehouse and installation for the restaurant bistro concept rebranding, hotel bar and outdoor terrace café renovation.

Highlights:

    • Remotely managed the 3-phase FF&E budget, purchasing, logistics, warehouse & installation activities. Identified, pre-qualified, negotiated and awarded works suited to local fabricators while planning and coordinating with on-site hotel operations mgmt. staff. Successfully turned over the facility on schedule with minimal down time and loss of revenue.




New Prototype Design for a Major Economy Brand Hotel Chain

Scope: Coordinated development of the brand's new prototype design prior to the sale of the brand comprising over 400 hotels.

Highlights:

    • Efforts contributed to the marketability of the asset, demonstrating to potential investors the brand was dynamic with a new and more contemporary design model already in motion.
    • Starting with architect and owner's concept, worked within committee overview, utilizing supplier and industry resources to develop in-room products for the new look. Successfully promoted the development of a new brand standard desk lamp upon recommendation manufacturer reengineer a new model desk lamp using the head from one lamp and the base from another.
    • Delivered purchasing template complete with fully identified products, negotiated pricing within approved cost-per-room budget.



Soft Goods redesign for a Major Economy Brand Hotel Chain

Scope: Coordinated development of the brand's new soft goods bedding ensemble resulting in a new look for the guest rooms without typical substantial renovation cash outlay.

Highlights:

    • Leading the project team, reporting to the executive committee, overcame prior product launch failures to achieve consensus and delivered a very unique product for the brand.
    • Soft goods were successful and became a focal point for the brand's marketing campaign.



Bella Wholesale Corporation
Scope: Partnered enterprise to import distinctive interior decorative products from South Africa. Sponsored business relationship with local business agent, identified products, sourced native suppliers and mar



Wyndham Hotels International

Highlights:

  • Wrote and assembled capital plan and emergency budgets, drafted and administered contracts and local on-site hotel management for a total of 460 projects involving 28 hotels and several "specialty" assignments including exterior re-branding signage.
  • Turn-key procurement for new hotel openings, conversions and renovations, headquarter renovations and disaster recovery. Demonstrated OS&E expertise, particularly for hotel restaurant start-ups
  • Key task force team leader in the aftermath of Puerto Rico Hurricane Georges devastation charged with fast-track purchasing responsibilities to re-open 5 hotels and resorts within six weeks; in time to accept seasonal tourism revenues. Generated inventory assessment totaling $1.8 million in damages along with detailed reports for insurance claim submittals. Sourced and purchased $700,000 furniture, fixtures and equipment. Expedited and coordinated import and installation services. One humanitarian aid initiative resulted in priority port authority container off-loading which included contractor supplies for workers to commence reconstruction renovation without delay.

La Quinta Inns
Scope: OS&E Responsibilities for multi-commodities and contract services.

Highlights:

  • Envisioned, introduced and launched purchasing web site ordering program. Directed project team in the development and administered roll-out and training. Program provided expenditures tracking functionality to measure against property operational expense budgets. Completed at no cost to company.
  • Administered vacuum cleaner warranty remedy program with manufacturer. Negotiated and executed 25% of original purchase cash refund settlement and waiver of disputed repair costs.
  • Reengineered and administered credit card purchasing program for field managers in conjunction with a national home improvement store chain, a major client for the brand in order to facilitate purchasing of repair and maintenance supplies.


Four Seasons Resort and Club

Highlights:

    • Installed and audited Food & Beverage operational control systems for new construction hotel opening.
    • Evaluated restaurant and banquet costs and recommended profitable menu pricing.
    • Generated reports and analyses of departmental operating expenses. Projected annual purchasing requirements for china, glassware, silver, linen, amenities and operating supplies.
    • Formed purchasing coalition between 3 regional hotels negotiating contract pricing for groceries and futures pricing for coffee and dairy commodities.
